Career stories

Signe Larsen

Development engineer

Signe has a versatile job: One day she is preoccupied with process development, other times she’ll be in the lab doing data analysis. In her own words there’s a great balance between office work and hands-on activities.

Trained in chemical and biotechnological engineering, she gains a lot of knowledge from her colleagues, who all come from very different backgrounds.

“My team approaches problems from many different perspectives, keeping our thinking open and flexible beyond just the clinical angle.”

But they do have one thing in common, she points out.

“People here are very proactive, quick-thinking, and innovative – and it’s perfectly okay to make mistakes along the way, as long as we learn from them.”

At Subra, her empathetic and organised approach is greatly appreciated. She focuses not only on developing products but also on improving her working methods thus spending less time perfecting theoretical solutions and more time refining them after practical testing in the lab.

“Here at Subra, it seems like if you have a good idea, you get the opportunity to try it out in a quick experiment and see if it makes sense to develop further. I think that’s great.”

Bo Skov Hedegaard

Production technician and process operator

Trained as a metalworker many years ago, with 15 years of experience in the electropolishing industry, Bo is now working at Subra building, making modifications, servicing equipment, and operating machinery.

“We do have people who exclusively operate the machines, and they’re extremely good at it. But I like that I don’t do the same thing every day.”

When the pace of production picks up, Bo’s dependable, pleasant, and approachable nature is highly valued at Subra.

“One should never hurry through life. Nothing is so vital that you cannot pause to draw a single, quiet breath.”

Bo is enthusiastic about the product and about being part of a small niche that, as he puts it, has the potential to grow significantly.

The team spirit at Subra is another plus in Bo’s book.

“The management’s commitment to building a solid team that works well, is clear, and I am fortunate to have kind, friendly, and welcoming my colleagues.”
